Hiya,
I made an altered journal the other day using this week's Waltzingmouse sketch...
I rotated the sketch and pulled out some DCWV paper I got on special a while ago as well as a WMS addition to my stash - Words of Wisdom.
The sentiment was stamped inside a Labels 18 shape stamped with a coordinating stamp. I used an owl stamp from an old Sale-a-Bration set stamped twice and punched out then I added some orange brads to their waistcoats.

Sunshine Shopping!
Hiya,
Just popping in with a quick notebook I made using a couple of challenges...
I used one of the little hard-backed notebooks I picked up at a supermarket a while ago and got to work decorating the cover...
I started with a piece of Regal Rose card and layered a piece of white card that I embossed with PTI's Sunshine impression plate. I die-cut a doily with an MFT die from Daffodil Delight card then layered a Whisper White circle on top, that I stamped with PTI's Mehndi Medallion using Daffodil Delight, and sponged around the edges. I stamped the shopping lists stamps (from Layers of Colour) over the top with Melon Mambo ink. The butterflies are from Hero Arts, die-cut with the matching dies and coloured with copics. I added a few rhinestones to finish.

ODBD Journal...
Hiya,
I found a challenge over at the Our Daily Bread Designs blog to use a scripture on your project and I thought it was a great opportunity to make another altered journal...
I started with a slim exercise book and covered the front and back with K&Co paper, wrapping it around the spine and also lining the inside of the cover as well. I added a decorative strip where the two papers overlap, cut using Spelbinders edgeabilities dies. The corners of all the pages and cover were rounded using a Zutter corner punch. The scripture (from one of ODBD's Scripture collections) was stamped on Very Vanilla with Chocolate Chip ink then die-cut with nestabilities and layered on a Spellbinders floral oval shape. I stamped some butterflies from a Tim Holtz set in choc chip ink and attached them around the sentiment with dimensional glue. I added some vanilla satin ribbon and a button to finish.

Tissue Paper Flower...
Hi there,
I found some time to play with this week's Waltzingmouse sketch today...
I pulled out some Kaisercraft papers and WMS stsamps and came up with this:
I used the Fancy Phrases stamp set as well as the Dainty Doilies 2 set with Bravo Burgundy, Taken with Teal, So Saffron and Very Vanilla (taken from the papers). I created the tissue paper flower using Stampin Up's Blossom Party die and several layers of tissue, spritzed with So Saffron reinker (mixed with water) and some glimmer mist - I used a Kaisercraft pearl brad in the centre.

Birthday Butterfly...
Hi there,
Sorry for the long absence from this little blog! It's been a crazy few months of finishing my studies and I'm pleased to say that I'm all finished and graduated - yay! I've got more time on my hand now so I spent a little time playing along with the current Diva Dare challenge over at the Verve blog, which is to make a birthday themed project. I combined this with the first Viva la Verve sketch from this month to come up with this:
I used some Lost & Found papers from My Mind's Eye for the layers and for paper piecing the butterfly. The label is from Verve's Tag Time set (I coloured around the frame with a copic marker), stamped with a sentiment from Making a Statement and a flourish from Blue Skies. I added some Kraft buttons and ribbon from PTI to finish.

Playing with butterflies...
Hi there,
I made another piece of wall art... this time using the gorgeous colour combo from the Play Date Cafe...
I found some Bo Bunny papers in my stash that fit these colours really nicely...
The papers took centre stage here, providing the background, the butterflies and the paper that I stamped the scripture (from Papertrey) on. I diecut a floral oval (Spellbinders) from Island Indigo card and layered on a frame from Twisted Metal Tags in Groovy Guava card. A couple of pearls on the frame and some Stickles on the butterflies finished things off.

Mojo Journal...
Hiya,
I combined this week's Mojo Monday sketch with the pretty Colour Throwdown combo...
I wanted to make an altered journal with a notebook I picked up recently so I pulled out some papers from Webster's Pages that were perfect for the colours...
I used a butterfly stamp from Verve, paper pieced with the same dsp. The sentiment stamp is also from Verve - thought it would be great for a thanksgiving or prayer journal...

Everything Beautiful...
Hiya,
I needed to make another piece of wall art last week so I combined the CR84FN colour challenge with the Viva la Verve sketch from the first week of June...
I used a scripture stamp from Verve together with some retired SU dsp to come up with this:
I used my favourite die at the moment - the frame from Twisted Metals Tags (Spellbinders) - a birthday pressie from my hubby! The papers really did most of the work on this one - just added some buttons and ribbon to finish.
Thanks for stopping by!

Make it a Notebook....
Hi there,
When I saw this week's Make it Monday challenge I knew I had to play along - I love sketches so this was perfect for me! I chose this sketch to work with:
I wanted to make a little altered notebook and when I saw the panels on the lower half of the sketch I thought I'd try some paper pleating...
The 'notes' stamp is from Take Note and I added a die-cut flower (Bloom Builders 3) and a butterfly from Butterfly Dreams coloured with copics. A little bit of ribbon and a button finished things off.
Thanks for stopping by!

Waltzingmouse Wedding..
Hi there,
Being on half-term break I've had the chance to play along with a few more of my favourite challenges and one of them is definitely the Waltzingmouse sketch. This week is extra special as it's challenge #100!
I decided to make a wedding card as I never seem to have enough of them in my stash. I struggled to photograph it properly though as there is a lot of silver included...
It looks better IRL! I embossed the Labels 18 shape with silver EP, stamping the greeting (from WMS Fancy Labels set) in the centre with black ink. I added a die-cut shape from Spellbinders' Twisted Metal tags (am loving this shape right now!!) behind the Labels 18 shape. The papers are from Kaisercraft, along with the pearls. I finished things off with some grey satin ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by!

Fresh Wall Art...
Hiya,
Sorry - long time, no post on this little old blog eh? I've been pretty busy over the last few weeks and other commitments have taken priority but I'm now on half-term so have lots of time to play... yay! I wanted to make some little wall hangings for my church bookshop so I used a couple of challenges to get me started - the Play Date colours and Freshly Made sketch...
Now I will admit before I show you my creation that I kinda missed the point on the whole 'clean' idea of the FMS challenge... I got a bit carried away and forgot the point of the challenge I was working on...! Sorry FMS gals! But it doesn't have tearing or distressing (does that still count?) lol!
I make these pieces of wall art using a piece of hard board that comes in a pack of 6 (supposed to be used as an album) - they are only slightly larger than a standard card so really easy to decorate. I used some Lost & Found papers from MME that matched the colour scheme nicely and a new Spellbinders die I recently got for my birthday (Floral Ovals). The sentiment is from a Layers of Colour stamp set I got a while ago (designed by Nina Brackett). I added lace, So Saffron ribbon, a die-cut flower & button with a couple of punched leaves and some pearls.
Here's a close up of the central panel:

Mojo Play Date...
Hiya,
I combined this week's Mojo sketch with the Play Date colour story...
I never seem to have enough anniversary cards when I need them so I'm trying to make more. The colours in the Play Date pic reminded me of some Kaisercraft papers I have in my stash so I took them out and ended up with this:
The sentiment is from Verve's Small Phrases set - stamped and then punched out and layered with with circle punches. The doily was cut with an MFT die from Vintage Cream card. I added some Kaisercraft lace & flower together with some striped ribbon from SU. A few pearls finished things off...

Waltzing Birthday Throwdown...
Hiya,
Today is a Bank Holiday in the UK so I had a bit of time to play along with the Colour Throwdown challenge as well as the Waltzingmouse sketch...
I dug out some old K&Co papers that I haven't used in ages and found some that matched these colours nicely (in the process I realised {once again} that I have WAY too much dsp in my stash... But it won't stop me buying more...{grin!}). Here's what I ended up with:
I used a few WMS sets on this - Labels 2, Ovals and Eat Cake (for the sentiment). The sketch is under there somewhere... I just got a bit carried away with layers and embellies lol! The centre piece was created using a Labels 2 shape, then a fancy tag cut with Basic Grey card, then an oval stamped with a coordinating stamp using Charcoal ink, then a So Saffron scalloped oval and finally a Whisper White oval with the sentiment stamped in Taken with Teal. I added some So Saffron ribbon and some PTI buttons with a punched butterfly to finish.

PTI Blog Hop Notebook...
Hi there,
I made a little something for this month's PTI blog hop - love the inspiration piece this month! Here's what I came up with:
I pulled out Rosie Posie as well as the Mat Stack 5 collection, Take Note and the Damask Delight background sets for this one. I found a pack of notebooks at a bargain store recently and thought they would work well as altered journals so I bought some to experiment with... turns out they're perfect! I went back to the store last week to get some more and they were all gone... eek! Just hoping they'll get some more in at some point. I used some Spring Rain bitty dots paper to cover the spine then used pink cardstock (stamped with the damask background) to cover the front and back. I added a filigree die-cut border to hide the join - love this die! The flowers were stamped in matching pink then shaded with copics.
That's it for now... Thanks for stopping by!

VLV Shabby Birthday...
Hi there,
I have a few cards to share with you today - all using the Viva la Verve sketches this month...
This one was created using some Kaisercraft goodies - papers, tags, lace, flowers and a pearl brad. It's a bit of a loose interpretation of the sketch with the arrows but I tried to incorporate a number of pointed elements to represent the arrow shapes. I distressed the edges and curled the top corner to 'shabbify' it a bit.
For this one I used some new papers I've just gotten - Lost and Found 2 stack from My Mind's Eye - 180 sheets of pure gorgeousness!! I chose the pink patterns and coloured the Verve image with copics to match. The sentiment is from Verve's Small Sayings set and is attached to some PTI Kraft ribbon.
This is my favourite of the bunch - more MME Lost & Found papers with a sentiment from Verve's Small Sayings. The circle with the correspondence banner was cut from one of the papers and layered on a die-cut from Early Espresso card. The butterfly and sentiment panel were also cut from the papers. I added some lace and buttons to finish off.
Well that's all from me for now - thanks for stopping by!

Mother's Day Cafe
Hi there,
When I saw the colours over at the Play Date cafe this week I knew I had to play along - LOVE these colours together! I combined the colours with one of the Viva la Verve sketches this month.
I decided to make a card for my Mum for Mother's Day coming up in May in Australia - hopefully I'll actually get it to her on time this year! I used some old SU papers as well as a few Verve stamp sets to create this...
My Mum loves her cups of tea and she loves blue so this is very 'Mumsy' in design. The Kiwi Kiss background was stamped with a background from Verve's background basics usign Versamark ink for a subtle effect. The circle panel was stamped with the greeting in Charcoal ink and the tea cups with Baja Breeze with a little 'steam' swirl with Tea Stain ink. I layered the circle (sponged with Baja Breeze) onto a MFT doily. I added some Baja Breeze ribbon and a button to finish.

One Layer Cake..
Hi there,
I decided to play along with this week's Waltzingmouse sketch, despite it being VERY un-me!! I never do one-layer cards but I thought it would be a good challenge for me... good to push yourself out of your comfort zone once in a while! Anyway, this is the result...
I used the Eat Cake set from WMS with Blushing Bride, Riding Hood Red and Early Espresso ink. I added some flourishes (from Flouishes scallops and dots) and a satin bow (couldn't have a completely flat card now could I?? lol!). The edge of the card front was die-xut with a Spellbindes edgers die for a bit of an elegant touch. I finished it off with a few rhinestones on the cake..

PTI Blog Hop Grocery List...
Hi there,
I took a bit of time out this afternoon to play along with PTI's blog hop this month. I loved the inspiration piece and colours and thought I would use them to create an altered notebook...
I used PTI's Aqua Mist and SU's Daffodil Delight for the cardstock and paper layers - I used Guidelines II, Mendhi Medallions and Butterfly Dreams to create the patterned card panels. I die-cut some white Banner Borders to add at the top and bottom as well as between two of the layers - so easy with that die! I noticed lots of circles in the inspiration piece so I brought this element in with the Guidelines patterns as well as the buttons, polka dots and focal piece. The centre circle (from Take Note) was stamped on Aqua Mist and punched out with a 1 3/4" circle punch then layered on a felt die-cut from the Limitless Layers collection. I added a flower & leaf from Rosie Posie (I shaded a bit of colour onto the flower with copics).
That's all for now... Thanks for stopping by!

Love Notebook...
Hiya,
I've been making some altered notebooks for our Church's women's conference coming up soon and I thought I'd use a colour/sketch combo to get me going! I chose this week's Colour Throwdown colours as well as the Viva la Verve sketch from this week. The colours reminded me of an old K&Co paper pad I have in my stash so I dug that out to create this:
The verse is a stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs - I inked it with Marina Mist then coloured over the words 'Love' with an Elegant Eggplant marker. I stamped the cross from Verve's Everlasting Life with So Saffron ink over the top. The butterflies (from Verve) were stamped on coordinating paper and cut out. I added some pearls and ribbon along with some swirls die-cut from Whisper White card.
Just a quick post for now - I've gotta make a start on an assignment for college!

Anniversary Date...
Hi there,
I played along with this week's gorgeous Play Date colour challenge along with the Waltzingmouse sketch...
This is one of my favourite colour combos at the moment (I'm thinking of redecorating our bedroom with this sort of scheme lol!). The Blissful Authentique papers are perfect for these colours so I dug them out along with some Walzingmouse stamps to come up with this...
I used WMS's Ovals Classic Frames for the cameos, and their Seasons of Love set for the sentiment in the centre square as well as the flourish stamped around it (stamped with Daffodil Delight ink). I sponged some daffodil ink around the centre square and inside the cameos lightly then inked around all three squares with Tea Dye ink to soften a little. The 'Happy Anniversary' sentiment is from a PTI set (Damask Delight). I added some accents cut with a Spellbinders accents die as well as some rhinestones for a bit of extra sparkle. I finished things off with some satin ribbon for a touch of elegance.
Thanks for stopping by!

Baby Mojo Joy...
Hiya,
Sorry for the long absence! I've had a crazy-busy few weeks with study, work and a bunch of other stuff. Today was my first opportunity in ages to make something just because I wanted to! I combined this week's Mojo sketch with the Colour Q challenge to create this...
I used Verve's Tag Time and To the Moon sets to create this vintage-feel baby card. The papers are from Bo Bunny's Gabrielle collection, which coordinated nicely with the Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride colours in the colour challenge. The tag was stamped with Chocolate Chip ink, with the sentiment in Calypso Coral. I stamped the elephant on Blushing Bride card (twice) and some coordinating DSP then did some paper piecing. I cut a slit along the bottom of the frame so I could pop the elephant through so she can pop out of the frame. I added some Certainly Celery ribbon and matching pearls as well as a punched ribbon strip of Certainly Celery card, stitched with linen thread (love this effect!).
That's all for now... Thanks for stopping by!

Colour Q bookmarks...
Hiya,
I thought I'd play along with this week's Colour Q challenge and make a couple of bookmarks...
I used SU's Two Tags die with Cool Caribbean cardstock then layered Naturals Ivory on top with a combination of punches and dies and a Verve sentiment on each. I added some butterflies for a bit of extra pretty!
Thanks for stopping by!

Anniversary blooms...
Hi again,
This is the last one - I promise! I have actually posted and linked this card on my other blog, but on reading the instructions on the CPS sketch blog I realised that all 15 of the cards needed to be linked to one blog, so I'm reposting this one here...
I got this hostess stamp set recently and decided to get it inky straight away. I stamped the flower twice for each bloom and then added shading with Poppy Parade ink and a blender pen. The centres were cut out and popped up for added dimension. I layered the flowers on a die-cut circle from the Perfect Pennants die and added some Peach Parfait swirls.
Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Array of Sunshine, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade
Paper: Poppy Parade, Regal Rose, Peach Parfait, Whisper White
Accessories: Rhinestones, word window punch, Perfect Pennants die, Scribbles & Swirls die, vintage wallpaper embossing folder
Thanks for stopping by!
